Welcome to Optical Opinions
Welcome to the first post in my new, ongoing series of articles named Optical Opinions. It’s a slightly different style to the content that is usually published on CDTV Land, in the sense that it’s shorter, more opinionated, and casual. It’s a format that lets me share an opinion before I’ve fully talked myself out of it. This should allow me to get more content out in a shorter time frame. I will let you, dear reader, decide if that’s a good thing or not.
One of the things I am very happy with is the quality of some of the deep dive articles that have been put out here on CDTV Land. There were so many gaps in the information available on the history of CDTV and some of the more obscure technical details about the platform, and a lot of the info that was around is factually incorrect. Correcting the record, it turns out, is surprisingly satisfying. Almost as satisfying as being right about something. I recommend trying it.
Don’t worry, this shorter/column style content is not replacing any of the deep dive articles. Those will continue to get posted and I have enough ideas and articles in various stages of completion to last for many more years, which at this point, I fear, is less a content strategy and more a personality trait. Be that as it may, it will allow me to put more information out there, in a more bite-sized manner.
It will also allow me to keep you more up-to-date with the goings on in CDTV Land. Some very talented people are working on very interesting projects. All I can say right now is that CDTV’s future is looking bright.
Whether you agree or disagree with me, you can always get in touch with me. Especially if you agree. Check the About page for my contact details. ■
